Undergraduate Offer Holders' Day

Hosted by the Student Marketing and Recruitment team

LSE Campus, London, United Kingdom

The Offer Holders’ Day gives undergraduate applicants with an offer of admission an opportunity to visit the LSE campus, attend subject taster talks and meet LSE students and academics.

Intended for those applicants with an offer for entry in September 2018 or deferred for 2019, the Offer Holders’ Day is designed to ensure that you can obtain all the information you need to make a well-informed choice about whether to accept your offer of a place at LSE and provides you with the opportunity to:

  • attend subject taster sessions relevant to your degree programme
  • meet current LSE students
  • visit some of our student accommodation
  • ask your questions directly to academic and support staff

Bookings are now closed. If you are an offer holder and have not booked a place but still wish to attend, please contact the Student Marketing and Recruitment team on +44 (0)20 7955 6613.

The following podcasts are edited recordings of some of the talks that took place at the LSE Undergraduate Offer Holders' Day in April 2018. Whether you were unable to attend the event, or just wish to listen to some of the talks again, we hope you find them interesting and informative.

We apologise in advance for poor sound quality and abrupt endings in some of these talks. The views expressed by speakers at LSE events are their own personal views and do not necessarily represent the wider views of the School.

Planning your day

Please refer to our programme of events [PDF] for full details of the activities taking place at the Offer Holders' Day. Paper copies will be distributed on the day but we recommend you plan your day in advance.

If you need help deciding where to go or require directions on the day, please ask one of our Student Ambassadors, who will be wearing black or white LSE t-shirts. The Ambassadors are current LSE students so feel free to ask them about their experiences of life at LSE!

Arrival and registration

All visitors are required to check in at the Offer Holders' Day registration desk before attending any other activities.

Within 24 hours of booking a place at the Offer Holders' Day you will receive a confirmation email detailing the location of the registration desk. The email will also contain an event barcode.

If you do not receive a confirmation email please check your junk or spam folders. Please contact if you require assistance with this.

When you arrive at the registration desk you will need to present the barcode at the top of your confirmation email ready for scanning. We can scan your barcode from a phone or tablet – there is no need to print the email.

At registration you and your guest will receive an LSE wristband, which will act as your visitor passes for the day.

Once you have registered, you are free to attend any of the events taking place during the day.

Travel and accommodation

We recommend you book your Offer Holders' Day place and refer to the programme of events [PDF] before you arrange travel or accommodation.

Use our maps of LSE and directions to the campus to find your way to us. We strongly recommend you use public transport as car parking in the area is extremely limited.

The TfL Journey Planner can help you find your way across London by tube, bus and train.

If you’re planning to stay overnight in London, why not enjoy a taste of university life by staying in an LSE hall of residence? Staying in LSE halls is cost effective, and prospective students receive a 20 per cent discount on the standard room rates.

Please avoid bringing luggage to the Offer Holders' Day as we have no facilities to store this during the event.

Other opportunities to visit LSE

If you are unable to attend the Offer Holders' Day, there are other opportunities to visit LSE, including the Open Day on Wednesday 11 April 2018 or there are ways to experience LSE from home, including webinars and videos.

LSE runs a series of public lectures throughout the year which are free to attend and open to all. In the evening of the Offer Holders' Day there is a public lecture on: Cultural Studies and the Challenge of Inequality Today. Visit LSE Events for more information about public lectures.

Event photography and video

Photographers and videographers may be attending LSE’s Open Day, capturing content that will be used in our promotional materials, such as webpages and prospectuses. Should you or a member of your group not wish to be photographed, please advise the photographer or a member of LSE staff working at the event.
