Campus tours

Guided campus tours

Visit LSE for a campus tour with a current LSE student. The next guided tour will take place on Monday 21 October 2019.

Tours last approximately 30 minutes and are followed by a presentation and Q&A session, with a member of staff from Student Marketing and Recruitment. Tours depart promptly at 3pm from the Student Services Centre in the Old Building. Please ensure you arrive five minutes early as we are unable to wait for late arrivals. We are unable to provide storage facilities for bags and luggage.

Book your place on a campus tour

Campus tours are only available on the listed dates. If a guided tour is not offered on the date you wish to visit LSE, you are welcome to visit for a self-guided tour and drop-in session instead as detailed below.

Self-guided tours

You can go on a self-guided tour of the campus any weekday between 9.30 and 17.00, apart from University closure days.

You can see key LSE buildings in Google Maps, and use this to navigate the campus, or you can use the LSExplorer brochure [PDF], or collect a hard copy from Student Marketing and Recruitment.

See campus maps and information on disabled access to LSE buildings, and information on travelling to LSE.

If you have any queries during, before or after your self-guided tour, you are welcome to attend a drop-in session - please see the information below.

Drop-in sessions

If you have any questions about applying to or studying at LSE (undergraduate, graduate, General Course), feel free to drop into Student Marketing and Recruitment Pankhurst House (formerly Tower One), Sixth floor) between 9.30 and 17.00, Monday to Friday. We'll be happy to help.

Graduate Admissions drop-in sessions

If you are applying for graduate study and have already begun the application process, you may like to attend one of the drop-in sessions offered by the Graduate Admissions, in the Student Services Centre, Old Building.

Events for offer holders

Offer Holders' Day for Undergraduates

Each year, LSE holds an Offer Holders' Day on campus for undergraduate applicants with an offer of admission. The day is an excellent opportunity to attend subject taster talks, meet LSE students and tour the campus.

Regional Offer Holders’ information sessions for Undergraduates

LSE held regional information sessions for offer holders in Manchester and Bristol in March 2019. These sessions provided offer holders with a flavour of what life at LSE and in London is like.

Destination LSE: pre-departure events around the world

Each summer, the School's alumni around the world organise Destination LSE events for undergraduate, graduate and General Course students joining LSE for the first time. Meet fellow future LSE students, as well as current students and alumni and find out more about what studying at LSE is like.

Please note that events are added on a rolling basis, so check back later to see additional events as they're added. Alternatively, you can also email destination.lse@lse.ac.uk with any queries.

Student Shadowing

Student Shadowing provides a unique opportunity for Year 12 and 13 students from schools and colleges in the UK to gain an insight into studying at LSE. Students spend half a day at LSE shadowing an undergraduate student, attend a lecture, have a tour of campus, and quiz students on their university life.

Taster courses

The university taster course programme provides Year 12 students with a taste of what life at a university in London is like. Taster courses are free to attend and you can choose from over 100 courses in a variety of subject areas at numerous participating universities.

In May 2019, LSE held taster courses in the following subjects:

  • Anthropology

  • Economic History

  • Finance

  • Geography and Environment

  • International History

  • Languages

  • Social Policy

Information about the LSE Taster courses for 2020 will be available in November 2019.  In the meantime, find out more at Taster Courses.

LSE Open Days (Undergraduate)

We hold two Undergraduate Open Days a year, one in the Spring and one in the Summer.

An Open Day is your opportunity to find out more about LSE, the application process, careers, financial support, and a specific subject or two that you're interested in. You also have the chance to visit the campus and a hall of residence.

Our last LSE Open Day took place in July 2019. Recordings of the talks from previous Open Days can be accessed on the Experience LSE webpage.

Visits to LSE for groups

Student Marketing and Recuitment hosts group visits to the LSE campus throughout the year.

Find out more about group visits in our teachers and schools pages.
