The Summit will serve a series of cumulative objectives, each building on the other, including:

marking the 70th anniversary of Pakistan’s birth and independence

showcasing LSE’s interdisciplinary strengths and expertise on Pakistan, and its comparative and applied importance
-
creating an international platform to debate and discuss topics of contemporary relevance and concern in Pakistan’s regional power on the global stage
-
repositioning academic debates about Pakistan
Discussion Panels
The Summit will cover different aspects of contemporary importance in Pakistan – and will include experts from LSE and experts from within Pakistan and abroad specialising in research on Pakistan/South Asia, and across sectors from academics to government to business to grassroots workers. By creating this collaborative platform, SAC hopes to bring the best of available academic and practical expertise from across the world to a single platform for debate, and to discuss ways forward.

There will be a special lecture by Professor David Gilmartin on 'The Indus and its Peoples'.
SAC is committed to making knowledge available for public impact, and enhance public engagement in informed decision-making processes. The event will be open to the general public, discussions will be live-streamed and recorded.
The SAC will publish all White Papers and the recordings of the discussions on its website with free public access, and download facilities.
