The event is meant to serve a series of cumulative objectives, each building on the other, including:

marking the 70th anniversary of India’s independence
-
showcasing LSE’s interdisciplinary strengths and expertise on India, and its applied relevance
-
creating a global platform to debate and discuss topics of contemporary relevance and concern in India’s regional power on the global stage
Discussion Panels
The panels will cover different aspects of contemporary importance, and panelists will include LSE academics and experts from within India and abroad specialising in research on South Asia or on the subject concerned, and across sectors from academics to government officers to business and communtiy leaders to grassroots workers. In seeking this collaborative model, SAC-LSE hopes to bring the best of available academic expertise from across the world to a single platform for debate, and to discuss ways forward.

Accompanied by 'Memories of Partition', an exhibition in collaboration with
The Partition Museum Project.
There will be a Master Class on Quantitative Data and a specially curated conversation on 'LSE and India' between Professor Michael Cox and Dr Ramachandra Guha.
LSE is committed to making knowledge available for public impact, and enhance public engagement in informed decision-making processes. The event will be open to the general public, discussions will be live-streamed and recorded, and all lead discussants will produce 8-10 page White Papers with policy suggestions to be submitted to relevant bodies, within 4-6 months of the event. The SAC will publish all White Papers and the recordings of the discussions on its website with free public access, and download facilities.
