Barry Rogers

I am a practice-led organizational psychologist who is a teacher, as well as a facilitator of organizational learning and action.

Prior to my current role I worked for 15 years as a financier in Tokyo, New York and London for Morgan Stanley, Nomura and J P Morgan. In my latter years within the industry I combined this with being Talent Director for JP Morgan Markets business in Europe.

My academic interests are very much driven by my background. I have a passion for the relationship between management theory and practice as well as the dynamics underpinning individual and group learning in an organisational setting.

Within the Department I teach PS446 – Organisational Life|. The aim of the course is to give a social psychological perspective on the elements of continuity and change in contemporary organisational life. Its primary objective is to facilitate students in developing a critical and reflective understanding of these key processes. I am also a member of the LSE Organisational Research Group.  Click here| to view my promotional video for PS446

Day to day I am a 'translator' and connector of ideas between academia and the real world. In doing this I work primarily with two of the LSEs key executive education partners, LSE Enterprise |and Duke Corporate Education|. Here I design customized executive education experiences for senior and middle management and act as an orchestrator and facilitator in small and large group settings. I work with companies as diverse as GAVI|(UN public/private partnership), Ernst and Young, Deutsche Bank|, News Corporation| and Shell|.

I am married with three children and have a keen interest in both contemporary and classical music, politics, road cycling and running. I am also an active member of a number of campaigning charities
