Cumberland Lodge

Dates of residential weekend: 3rd - 5th February 2017

A highlight of the year is the Department residential weekend at Cumberland Lodge, situated in the Windsor Great Park, Berkshire. Staff and students are invited to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to socialise and discuss social policy themes
and issues in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.

The weekend is a great opportunity to meet and network with other students and staff from the Department and to discuss current themes and topics in an informal setting. The weekend comprises seminars, discussions and debates, as well as a fun quiz and free time to explore the park and surrounding area. Seminars are led by Social Policy faculty and you can see last year’s programme, Welfare state and Welfare society. to give you an idea of the weekend. There is also further information about the Lodge here for your information.

The trip is open to ALL registered Social Policy students, however places are limited and a lottery system will be operated in the case of oversubscription.

Please note, that if you are offered a place you are expected to be available for the whole weekend and to attend all of the scheduled sessions.

All students who would like to attend the weekend should send an email to m.s.schlegel@lse.ac.uk   with their details by 12 noon on Thursday 1st December.

To make processing the requests as easy as possible, please provide your details in the body of an email in the format shown below :

Surname;  first name;  student ID number; LSE email address.

The programme for the 2017 weekend will be available at the beginning of the Lent Term.
