Dates of residential weekend: 3rd - 5th February 2017
A highlight of the year is the Department residential weekend at Cumberland Lodge, situated in the Windsor Great Park, Berkshire. Staff and students are invited to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to socialise and discuss social policy themes
and issues in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
The weekend is a great opportunity to meet and network with other students and staff from the Department and to discuss current themes and topics in an informal setting. The weekend comprises seminars, discussions and debates, as well as a fun quiz and free time to explore the park and surrounding area. Seminars are led by Social Policy faculty and you can see last year’s programme, Welfare state and Welfare society. to give you an idea of the weekend. There is also further information about the Lodge here for your information.
The trip is open to ALL registered Social Policy students. Places have now been allocated, and we are operating a waiting system due to oversubscription.
Please note, that if you are offered a place you are expected to be available for the whole weekend and to attend all of the scheduled sessions.
The topic for the 2017 weekend will be Issues of Migration
The full programme for the 2017 weekend will be available at the beginning of the Lent Term.
