Staff-Student Liaison Committee

and Student Representation

The opportunity for staff and students to meet and discuss a range of issues relating to study at LSE.

Departmental meetings are scheduled to allow staff and students the opportunity to meet and discuss a range of issues relating to study at LSE.

A student from each year of each degree programme is elected in the first two weeks of Michaelmas Term to represent the views of his/her peers at their departmental Staff-Student Liaison Committees (SSLC).

There is one SSLC for undergraduate students and one SSLC for post graduate and research students.

Each SSLC meets once in the Michaelmas and Lent terms, and is chaired by the Departmental Tutor (UG) or the Deputy Head of Department for Teaching (PGT). These meetings address wider Departmental and School issues and matters relating to the student teaching and learning experience. Normally in attendance are Programme Directors, Programme Administrators and the student programme representatives.
