Course content

This programme is designed to give students a good introduction to quantitative and qualitative methods and to acquaint them with the strengths and limits of different methodologies. The course has three main components:

      1.   MY452M Applied Regression Analysis
2.      MY400 Fundamentals of Social Science Research Design
3.      MY421 Qualitative Research Methods.

Assessment

Examination is by two pieces of assessed coursework (c.3000 words each) (67%) due early in LT and two two-hour papers in the ST (33%). Students registered on this course will take exam papers MY4M2a (based on the MY453 syllabus) and assessed coursework covering MY400 (c.3000 words) and MY421 (c.3000 words) portion of the course.
