I am an entrepreneurial academic interested in using large firm level datasets in improving the productivity and effectiveness of firms (both financial and non-financial) and other public organisations, and to provide practical use cases to operationalise our findings (also called 'Big Data'). I strongly believe that we are currently at a managerial inflection point, where technological progress (new data sources and integrated information technologies) will have a profound impact on how we manage organisations, and incentivise people. Objective and semi-automated foundations of decision making will increase efficiencies, reduce waste, and give us new products. To this end I currently exploit large datasets on policing, corporate boards, automotive supply chains, retail, and pricing.
