Zeynep specialises in Kurdish politics and international relations of the Middle East. She carried out research on Kurdish nationalist groups' use of international norms, especially self-determination, and their relationship with the international society. Currently, she is working on the role of international actors in enhancing women's status in Iraqi Kurdistan.
