Dr Onslow's research interests lie in British foreign policy since 1945, British de-colonisation in Africa since 1960, and Britain and Southern Africa since 1960. She is also interested in the Conservative party's foreign policy, especially its attitudes to Europe, the Middle East and Southern Africa, the Rhodesia question, Portuguese/South African/Rhodesian relations, 1960-1975 and South African/Rhodesian relations, 1975-1980.
