Rebecca Bryant is a political and legal anthropologist whose work focuses on ethnic conflict and displacement, border practices, transitional justice, and contested sovereignty in Cyprus, Turkey, and more recently the south Caucasus. She is the author of two books and numerous academic articles, research reports, policy briefs and commentary on the Cyprus conflict and Turkish political culture. Her current research concerns comparative analysis of everyday life in unrecognized states. In 2014, she will begin a research project on bourgeois conceptions of modernity in the early Turkish republican period.
