I am the co-author of a 1994 book on UK manufacturing and have published numerous articles on productivity and competitiveness at the company, industry and whole economy level. Recently, I have studied the role of ICT in explaining UK and US economic performance. Most recently, I have studied how to construct true measures of the cost and standard of living using only the data regularly gathered by statistical agencies. My expertise lies in the measurement and analysis of productvity and more generally in the construction and analysis of economic statistics, such as price indices of all types.
