My research interests include orphaned and caregiving children, AIDS-related stigma, adherence to ARVs, community mobilisation, microfinance and cash transfer programmes, children's coping and resilience, participatory research methods and Africa. My interest in children affected by AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa is shaped by their extraordinary coping strategies and ability to negotiate access to support from their communities. The focus of my work tends to be on local realities vis-a-vis global responses to health and well-being in Africa.
