Research interests and experience: principally, the economics of European integration with a focus on policy issues. Recent research projects have covered economic policy under EMU, the social dimension of European integration, the European Employment Strategy, and examination of regional disparities in the EU and their policy implications. Other interests have included work on urban and regional competitiveness.
