Giordano is the Programme Director of the BSc in Geography with Economics. Before joining the Department of Geography and Environment in 2009, Giordano was a post-doctoral fellow at the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) from which he received a PhD in Economics in 2004. He was also a visiting scholar at the Paris School of Economics, University of Toronto, and University of Bologna and a researcher at the National Bank of Belgium. Giordano is currently a fellow of the Centre for Economic and Policy Research, the Centre for Economic Performance, and the Spatial Economics Research Centre and his research focuses on International Trade, Urban Economics, Labour Markets and Institutions. He has been published in international peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Urban Economics, the Economic Journal, and the Review of Economics and Statistics. His teaching focuses on International Trade, Urban Economics and the Economics of the EU integration.
