Research summary > [Click to expand]

I analyse the political economy of financial globalisation, the eurozone and the growing antagonism between the imperatives of private markets and those of national democratic politics to provide insights into the pressing issues animating fiscal relations and transnational governance today and how they will play out tomorrow. My current projects analyse how authoritative knowledge is constituted in the market through expert practices of risk and uncertainty, the role of credit ratings and the problem of sovereign debt, as well as subsequent public policy responses.
