Anna Macdonald is an LSE fellow in the International Development Department at the London School of Economics (LSE). She is closely involved with the DFID funded Justice and Security Research Programme (JSRP) which is based in the department and which conducts research on the informal institutions that govern justice and security in fragile and conflict affected places. Her own work is focused mainly on the provision of justice in post-conflict northern Uganda and on the history, theory and practice of transitional justice more broadly. She has a BA in Modern History from Oxford University; an MSc in the Theory and History of International Relations from the LSE and a PhD in War Studies Department from King’s College London.
