Covadonga Meseguer has PhD in Political Science (2002) and is member of the Juan March Institute for Advanced Study in the Social Sciences (Madrid, Spain). Covadonga has held teaching and research positions at New York University, European University Institute, Kellogg Institute for International Studies, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona Institute for International Studies, Nuffield College, Central European University, and the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics in Mexico City.

She writes on international migration, the internationalization of policies, and Latin American political economy. Her work has appeared or will appear in Studies in Comparative International Development, World Development, European Journal of Political Research, Latin American Politics and Society, European Journal of Political Economy, and others.

Her book manuscript "Learning, Policy Making, and Market Reforms" was published in 2009 by Cambridge University Press.
