Energy Policy in Light of the Ukraine Crisis

In the context of the energy security strategy published in May 2014, this discussion will look at how the EU energy policy is supporting energy security and with what policy tools. It will also address the EU’s energy relationship with Russia, how dependence can be reduced through diversification, and at what cost.

Chi-Kong Chyong is Director of the Energy Policy Forum and ECFR Visiting Fellow. 

Julian Popov is a Fellow at the European Climate Foundation. 

David Cadier is a Fellow in International Strategy and Diplomacy at LSE IDEAS.

The LSE European Institute (@LSEEI) was established in 1991 as a dedicated centre for the interdisciplinary study of processes of integration and fragmentation within Europe. In the most recent national Research Assessment Exercise, the Institute was ranked first for research in European Studies in the United Kingdom. The LSE European Institute has been a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence since 2009.
