Professor Keyder will propose an account of the last hundred years of the “state tradition” in Turkey.
Çağlar Keyder is Centennial Professor at the LSE European Institute and Professor in the Department of Sociology at Boğaziçi University.
Esra Özyürek is an Associate Professor and the Chair of Contemporary Turkish Studies at the European Institute, LSE.
The LSE European Institute (@LSEEI) was established in 1991 as a dedicated centre for the interdisciplinary study of processes of integration and fragmentation within Europe. In the most recent national Research Assessment Exercise, the Institute was ranked first for research in European Studies in the United Kingdom. The LSE European Institute has been a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence since 2009.

For delegates who wish to obtain a CPD Certificate of Attendance, it is the responsibility of delegates to register their details with a LSE steward at the end of the event and as of 1 September 2014 a certificate will be sent within 28 days of the date of the event attended by the CPD Certification Service. If a delegate fails to register their details at the event, it will not prove possible to issue a certificate.
