Fabrizio Saccomanni is Italian minister of economy and finance, a position he has held since April 2013. Prior to this he served as a member of the directorate (Governing Board) and director general of the Bank of Italy (from 2 October 2006 to 27 April 2013). He served as vice president for risk management at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development from February 2003 to September 2006. He has a degree in economics from the Bocconi University in Milan and studying postgraduate courses in monetary and international economics at Princeton University (USA)
