Alberto Toscano will be debating his counter-history of fanaticism, in which he argues that fanaticism has played a critical role in forming modern politics.

Robert Eaglestone is professor of contemporary literature and thought at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Alberto Toscano is senior lecturer in sociology at Goldsmiths, University of London.
