A distinguished panel tackles controversial and highly significant questions regarding the relative importance of industrial and agricultural revolution in the developing countries today, for both economic growth and wider development.

Ernest Aryeetey is vice chancellor of the University of Ghana, and country director, IGC Ghana. Ijaz Nabi is from the Lahore University of Management Sciences, and is country director, IGC Pakistan. Mark Rosenzweig is the Frank Altschul Professor of International Economics at Yale University. Paul Romer is senior fellow, SCID (Stanford Center for International Development) and SIEPR (Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research). John Sutton is Sir John Hicks Professor of Economics at LSE.

This public discussion is part of Growth Week 2010, a three-day conference organised by the International Growth Centre (IGC). The previous event Industrial Productivity takes place at 4.30pm on 21 September with the next public event Reforming Educational Systems taking place at 4.30pm on 22 September.
