Speaking with the Speaker

John Bercow was elected to the post of speaker in June 2009. It followed the resignation of the previous speaker in the wake of the controversy over MP's expenses. Speaker Bercow will discuss his views on parliamentary reform with Tony Travers.

Tony Travers is director of LSE London.

Ticket Information

This event is free and open to all however a ticket is required.  One ticket per person can now be requested.

Friday 22 January: The public ticket line has now closed.  You will be notified within 48 hours whether your ticket request has been successful. 

LSE students are able to collect one ticket from the LSESU reception, located on the ground floor of the East Building.

For those unable to request a ticket, please note the following:

Returns Queue

There will be a returns queue in operation at this event, situated outside the Old Theatre.  Any seats left empty by ticket holders will be filled by those in the returns queue shortly before the start of the event.  Entry via the returns queue is not guaranteed.

Haiti collection - at all LSE public events over the next few weeks a collection will be taken which will be donated to the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) who are coordinating the appeal for aid in the disaster-hit country.  All LSE public events are free, and we are asking that those who attend these events give what they can afford, to help those affected by the devastation caused by this natural disaster.  Should you wish to contribute directly, donations to the appeal can be made by calling 0370 60 60 900, or by visiting www.dec.org.uk.
