The last 18 months have seen unprecedented shocks to the financial system which have had significant implications for the wider economy. As we recover, financial services and the stock markets can and should play a vital role in funding a sustainable economic recovery and social development in the UK and worldwide.
Xavier Rolet joined the London Stock Exchange as Chief Executive in May 2009 after a career which included senior roles at Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs and as an entrepreneur. He served as a Second Lieutenant and Instructor at the French Air Force Academy in 1981. He is a graduate of Columbia University Graduate School of Business, where he gained an MBA in 1983, and holds a 2008 post-graduate degree from the IHEDN, in Paris. He has competed in, and completed, the Paris-Dakar Rally and has won awards for his community work.
