Nicholas Stern will present an outline of his new book, A Blueprint for a Safer Planet, which describes how to manage climate change while creating a new era of growth and prosperity.

Professor Lord Stern is the chair of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and also holds the IG Patel Chair in Economics and Government at LSE. Professor Lord Stern was adviser to the UK Government on the Economics of Climate Change and Development from 2005-2007, and Head of the Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change. He was also Head of the Government Economic Service, 2003-2007; Second Permanent Secretary to Her Majesty's Treasury, 2003-2005; and Director of Policy and Research for the Prime Minister's Commission for Africa, 2004-2005. He was Chief Economist and Senior Vice President at the World Bank from 2000-2003.

This event celebrates the launch of Professor Lord Stern's new book A Blueprint for a Safer Planet: how to manage climate change and create a new era of progress and prosperity.
