An interdisciplinary, cross-party investigation of policy options for the EU post-2009, involving 50 experts from all over Europe. The final report will be presented to national governments and the EU institutions in spring 2009.
David Miliband is UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs. Frans Timmermans, Dutch minister for European affairs. Loukas Tsoukalis is president of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). Stephen Wall is the former EU adviser to Tony Blair and UK permanent representative to the EU.
This event will present the conclusions of a joint research initiative by Policy Network, ELIAMEP and the LSE's European Institute into how the European Union can reform itself, both "internally" and "externally", to overcome and respond to the multifaceted challenges of the global age we now live in.
