The lecture will focus on Hungary's economic development, reform process and energy security. The Prime Minister will also touch on Hungary's unique opportunity to be a leader in the knowledge base economy.
Ferenc Gyurcsány is Prime Minister of Hungary, a position he has held since October 2004. Prior to this he served as Minister of Children, Youth and Sports from 2003-04.
The next public lecture organised by the European Institute will be on Friday 16 November and is entitled A new chapter in the European project: Europe in a global economy.
