As part of LSE's series of lectures looking at the long term challenges facing Britain and British politicians 'after Blair', Alan Milburn will examine the potential for reform of the public services.
Alan Milburn has been an MP for Darlington since 1992. As chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster he was coordinator of the Labour Party's 2005 general election campaign. His previous positions include secretary of state for health, chief secretary to the Treasury, and minister of state, Health Department.
