This event will discuss the moral implications of the increasing globalisation of the media and our increasing dependence on those media for our understanding of the other in the world in which we live, the subject of Professor Roger Silverstone's book, Media and Morality: on the rise of the mediapolis (Polity, 2006).

Charlie Beckett, Director is director of POLIS. Lilie Chouliaraki is Research Professor of Media & Discourse Studies, Copenhagen Business School. Stan Cohen is Martin White Professor of Sociology at LSE. Daniel Dayan is Director of Research, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique. Richard Sambrook is director of the BBC's global news division. Robin Mansell is Professor of New Media at LSE.

This event is free and open to all with no ticket required. Entry is on a first come, first served basis.
