Janez Potočnik is European Commissioner for science and research, a position he has held since 2004. Prior to this Commissioner Potočnik was Slovenian Minister for European Affairs from 2002 to 2004 and acted as head of negotiating team for the accession of Slovenia to the EU from 1998 onwards.
This series is hosted by the European Institute at LSE and supported by LSE Annual Fund.
The next event in the series takes place on Thursday 27 April - Dr Richard Mayne, personal assistant to both Jean Monnet and to the first president of the EEC Commission, Walter Hallstein, will give a lecture on L'Europe de Jean Monnet -Tomorrow's Europe?
