SUMMARY:Thomas Pashby (USC)\, "Schrödinger's Cat: It's about time (not measurement)"
DESCRIPTION:To avoid paradox\, I maintain that two simple tensed conditionals are true: (i) if the atom has decayed then the cat is dead; (ii) if the atom has not decayed then the cat is alive. So long as it is true at some time that the atom decays then it follows from tense logic (under mild constraints) that at all times it is true that the cat is dead or true that the cat is alive. This avoids the paradoxical conclusion by making the time of decay the subject of quantum mechanical propositions rather then the outcome of an instantaneous measurement at a given time.
