Listen back to LSE Philosophy Research Student Katherine Furman discussing Thabo Mbeki and “AIDS Denialism” on South Africa’s Power 98.7 radio station.

Katherine Furman is a fourth year student on our MPhil/PhD Philosophy programme. Katherine’s research focuses on applied ethics, epistemology and philosophy of science, with a particular emphasis on issues in health policy. The topic of Katherine’s PhD thesis is HIV/AIDS denialism in South African health policy.

In this recording of last week’s Power Breakfast show on South Africa’s Power 98.7, Katherine applies some of her research to a discussion of former president Thabo Mbeki’s alleged espousal of “AIDS Denialism”.
