We’re pleased to welcome the newest member of the LSE Philosophy faculty, Dr Susanne Burri, who starts as an Assistant Professor in September 2015.

Susanne completed her PhD in the Department in 2014 under the supervision of Alex Voorhoeve and Luc Bovens, with a thesis entitled “A rights-based perspective on permissible harm. Between graduating and joining the LSE Philosophy faculty, she took up a postdoctoral position at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Susanne’s research interests include normative ethics, the philosophy of economics and political philosophy. Her recent article, “The Toss-Up Between a Profiting, Innocent Threat and His Victim”, was published in The Journal of Political Philosophy.

In 2015/6, Susanne will be programme co-ordinator for our MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy, as well as teaching on the Philosophy, Morals and Politics (PH214/PH416) and Business and Organisational Ethics (PH225/PH425) courses.
