Speaker(s) : Professor Robert Eaglestone, Dr Edward Harcourt

Recorded on 8 May 2012 at Wolfson Theatre, New Academic Building

What, if anything, is common to moral guilt, guilt at breaking a diet, survivor guilt, and collective guilt? Do phenomenologies of guilt vary according to culture or upbringing? Is guilt an "advanced" moral emotion or a primitive one?

Robert Eaglestone is professor of contemporary literature and thought at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Edward Harcourt is University Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Oxford.
