US author John Tirman argues that while Americans are rightly concerned about the number of US troops killed in battle, they can seem indifferent, often oblivious, to the far greater number of casualties suffered by those they fight and those they fight for.
John Tirman is executive director of MIT's Center for International Studies. This lecture marks the publication of his new book The Death of Others.
