Life After Death: Al-Qaeda and the US war on terror

Download: Audio

Speaker(s): Professor Fawaz Gerges

Recorded on 25 October 2011 in Sheikh Zayed Theatre, New Academic Building.

Al-Qaeda has degenerated into a fractured, marginal body kept alive largely by the self-serving, anti-terrorist bureaucracy it helped to spawn. Professor Gerges' new book, The Rise and Fall of Al Qaeda, will be launched at this event.

Fawaz Gerges is director of the Middle East Centre and professor of Middle East politics and international relations at LSE.
