Howard Davies, Director of LSE, and Lord Stern, world-renowned climate change economist, will for the first time be teaching classes at LSE's Executive Summer School 2010.
The Executive Summer School offers cutting-edge courses for business professionals in subjects that range from international finance and behavioural economics to applied business analysis and leadership and management.
All the week-long courses are taught by leading LSE experts. Lord Stern will be heading the Climate Change Economics and Governance course with Professor Judith Rees, while Howard Davies, the LSE's Director and former Chief Executive of the Financial Services Authority, will feature in Financial Regulation.
Both courses are new additions, making a total of 13 in what is the second year of the Executive Summer School. More than 140 people attended the first, from companies that included JP Morgan and KPMG.
Each course is a week long and is held from either June 21 to 25 or from June 28 to 2 July.
Professor Mick Cox, Academic Director, said: 'We've always felt that we had a lot to share with business professionals and last year's Executive Summer School proved that. Our research and teaching is connected to what's going on in the worlds of finance, management and governance which is why we can offer learning to sharpen the competitive edge of anyone who works in those fields.'
All courses are taught at LSE's spacious and modern New Academic Building on Lincoln's Inn Fields, opened by the Queen just 18 months ago.
Applicants for the courses will normally need to show a good first degree and some substantial professional experience in their chosen field to ensure they can benefit from the academically-demanding classes.
