Cherie Blair speaks for herself in China meetings with LSE alumni

Cherie Blair met 100 of her fellow LSE alumni during a visit to China and spoke of her time in both Houghton Street and Downing Street.

Mrs Blair, an LLB graduate from 1975, was in China not only to meet alumni but also for the Shanghai Book Fair, promoting the work of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women.

Cherie Blair meets fellow LSE alumni in ChinaFormer students turned up in Beijing and Shanghai for A Dialogue with Mrs Cherie Blair moderated by LSE's Brendan Smith.  Mrs Blair spoke of her experiences at LSE, the challenges for her, and women in general, in developing successful legal careers, and her experiences as a 'First Lady' in No.10 Downing Street.

Alumni were also treated to a very candid insight into the importance of balance in family and work life, and how Cherie, and former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, managed their relationship, family and demanding careers.

Alumni had the opportunity to purchase signed copies of the Chinese version of Cherie's latest book Speaking for Myself.
