A cosmopolitan perspective on the sociology of generations

Ulrich Beck, professor of sociology, will give a talk entitled 'A Cosmopolitan Perspective on the Sociology of Generations' at LSE  on Wednesday 14 February.

The space of experience of the younger generation is no longer fixed to the nation-state. Therefore, Professor Beck will argue that sociology needs to overcome 'methodological nationalism'.

Ulrich Beck is professor of sociology at the University of Munich and British Journal of Sociology visiting centennial professor at LSE.

A Cosmopolitan Perspective on the Sociology of Generations is on Wednesday 14 February 2007 at 6.30pm in the Old Theatre, Old Building, LSE, Houghton Street, London, WC2A 2AE. This event is free and open to all with no ticket required. Entry is on a first come, first served basis.
