Sir Iain is editor of the James Lind Library, which documents the evolution of fair tests of medical treatments.

Social solidarity, altruism and self-interest in assessing the effects of healthcare interventions is on Monday 27 November at 6.30pm in the Hong Kong Theatre, Clement House, LSE, Aldwych, London WC2A. This event is free and open to all with no ticket required.
