Six new honorary fellowships will be presented at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) this week (Thursday 13 and Friday 14 July).
The awards will be formally presented to:
Thursday 13 July, 10.30am, Dr Rosanna Wong DBE JP (MSc Social Policy and Administration 1983), executive director of The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups.
Thursday 13 July, 10.30am, Dr Munir Majid (BSc Econ 1971), chairman of Malaysia Airlines and PECD Berhad, is being presented with an Honorary Fellowship
Thursday 13 July, 2pm, Sir Michael Lickiss (BSc Econ 1955), a member of the School's Court of Governors since 1992
Friday 14 July, 11am, Charles Goodhart, CBE, FBA, LSE Professor Emeritus of Banking and Finance
Friday 14 July, 11am, Professor Emeritus Derek Diamond, who was an LSE professor of geography, with special reference to urban and regional planning, from 1982 to 1995
Friday 14 July, 2.30pm, Sir Robert (Bob) Worcester KBE, founder and chairman emeritus of Market & Opinion Research International (MORI) Ltd.
Long Yongtu was awarded an honorary degree (DSc(Econ)) last year but was unable to attend the December ceremony. He will receive this on Thursday 13 July, at the 2pm ceremony.
The presentations will take place as the School congratulates around 1,300 students on their graduation achievements. The ceremonies are held in the Peacock Theatre, Portugal Street, London WC2. Director of LSE, Howard Davies, conducts the ceremonies alongside Sir Anthony Battishill, vice chairman of the Court of Governors.
LSE confers honorary fellowships each year on people who have attained distinction in the arts, science or public life, or who have rendered outstanding services to the School or its concerns.

Munir Majid gets honorary fellowship from LSE (15 July)
Malaysia Airlines chairman Datuk Dr Munir Majid has been conferred an honorary fellowship by LSE. He was among six international personalities who were presented with the awards at the school's two day graduation ceremony that ended yesterday.
