In memory of Dr Anne Bohm

Dr Anne Bohm (27 August 1910 - 15 October 2006). She will be greatly missed.

Photograph of Anne BohmDr Anne Bohm joined LSE as a research assistant in 1942 and devoted herself to the School until her retirement in 1985. She became Secretary of the Graduate School in 1945, at a time when higher education was invigorated by an influx of ex-servicemen returning from the war, and described the post-war period as a golden one for graduate studies at LSE.

Dr Bohm formally retired as Secretary in 1977 then continued as a roving ambassador for the School until 1985. She continued to contribute much to the School after her retirement, and was elected an honorary fellow in 1988. She was awarded an OBE in 1991, and awarded the Brazilian Order of Rio Branco in October 2002.
