Guantanamo Is Closer Than You Think: internment without trial after the law lords ruling

On Thursday 16 December, in a crucially important decision for future Government policy, the law lords ruled that detaining without trial non-British nationals is unlawful.

Shami Chakrabarti, director of Liberty, and Gareth Peirce, a solicitor for many of those detained without trial, will explore the implications for anti terrorism legislation resulting from this historic ruling in a public event at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) on Tuesday 11 January.

Francesca Klug, LSE, will chair this event, which is free and open to all with no ticket required.

Guantanamo Is Closer Than You Think: internment without trial after the law lords ruling is on Tuesday 11 January at 6:30pm in the Hong Kong Theatre, Clement House, LSE, Aldywch, London WC2A.
