Chinese nationalism under the shadow of globalisation

Page Contents >

During the 1990s Wang Xiaodong established himself as one of the foremost advocates of a revival of Chinese nationalism to withstand the threats to sovereignty and identity posed by globalisation as China moved away from socialism and towards the market.

Wang Xiaodong will explore Chinese nationalism in relation to globalisation in a public lecture at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) on Monday 7 February.

Starting as an editor and author for the influential intellectual journal Strategy and Management, Wang Xiaodong's literary career continued with his co-authorship of the popular book China's Road Under the Shadow of Globalization.

Chinese Nationalism Under the Shadow of Globalisation is on Monday 7 February at 6pm in the Hong Kong Theatre, Clement House, LSE, Aldwych, London WC2A. This event is free and open to all with no ticket required.
