Rethinking Post-communist Transition

Tuesday 6 May, 5.30pm
Old Theatre, Old Building

The end of communist rule was widely celebrated as a 'transition to democracy'. But how radical a break was it, in retrospect? And to what did it turn out to have been a transition?

Professor Stephen White, University of Glasgow, will be addressing the issue of post-communist transition on Tuesday 6 May at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Stephen White is professor of international politics at the University of Glasgow, a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and a former president of the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies.

Professor Michael Moran will be chairing this event, which is free and open to all with no ticket required.
