Tuesday 19 November, 6.30pm
Old Theatre, Old Building
Ten years ago, the then governor of the Bank of England delivered the inaugural LSE Bank of England Lecture, which argued the case for price stability. In The Inflation Target Ten Years On, Mervyn King will examine whether ten years of inflation targeting have delivered the promised benefits, and discuss the challenges that lie ahead.
Mervyn King has been deputy governor of the Bank of England since 1998, responsible for monetary policy, and a member of the Monetary Policy Committee. Prior to this, he was the Bank of England's chief economist and executive director.
This event is free and open to all but a ticket is required.
The Inflation Target Ten Years On is on Tuesday 19 November at 6.30pm in the Old Theatre, Old Building, LSE.
