Sustainable Futures Careers Fair

Wednesday 6 March, 12.30-5pm
The Civil Engineering Department, Imperial College, South Kensington Campus, London SW7

The Environment Society at Imperial College and LSE Environmental Initiatives Network are jointly organizing an Alternative Careers Fair at Imperial College on Wednesday 6 March.

This will be an opportunity to find out more about careers in sectors where work emphasizes ethical and environmental issues. Speakers include Dr Seckinelgin from the Centre for Civil Society, LSE; Kate Hockley, LSE graduate who works in Environmental Consultancy; and four speakers on various aspects of SRI (Socially Responsible Investment). There will also be representatives from the world of engineering and alternative energy, as well as recruitment agencies specialising in work of an environmental/ethical character.

Sustainable Futures does not aim to dictate what an ethical career is, but will give people the opportunity to explore the possibilities available to them. The fair will show that it is possible to do something exciting and interesting and to put something back into society, whatever the choice of career.

Amongst those attending will be representations and stalls from the diverse worlds of:

  • Ethical finance
  • NGOs and overseas development
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Media
  • Renewable Energy

Ends
