Culture and the City

Thursday 24 January, 6pm
Old Theatre, Old Building, LSE

Rafael Moneo, Professor of Architecture and former chairman of the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, will be speaking on Culture and the City on Thursday 24 January at LSE.

He will be focusing on the interactions between the design or arts and cultural buildings and their urban and historical contexts.

An internationally respected architect and design theorist, Rafael Moneo's subtle yet thoroughly contemporary approach to urban context informs a range of beautifully crafted buildings, including the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, the Thyssen-Bornemiza Collection in Madrid, and the Kursal cultural complex which was awarded the Mies van der Rohe Prize in 2001.
